The 70th Anniversary of Warsaw Uprising

Today at 17:00 all Poles will stop to commemorate the victims of 1944 Warsaw Uprising.

70 years ago on August 1st the Polish resistance Home Army started the unequal battle on the streets of Warsaw. The Warsaw Uprising lasted for 63 days, killing over 16,000 members of the Polish resistance and wounding over 6,000. In addition, between 150,000 and 200,000 Polish civilians died, mostly from mass executions.

At WUT main Building you will have a chance to see a unique exhibition Most63.

It is an artistic project / a document consisting of 63 film miniatures, supported by poster exhibitions. In this document both Poles and people from all over the world – now citizens of Warsaw – define basic terms, e.g. bread, water, family, friendship, happiness, or loneliness. Each term is selected for a particular person and it has some connection with them.
